“Whoever teaches his son teaches not alone his son but also his son's son, and so on to the end of generations” - Talmud (Kiddushin 36)
Jewish education is one of the key factors driving the continuity of the Jewish people. In honour of our father Nathan Werdiger's 80th birthday this fund was established in order to enable families to allow their children to have a Jewish education. Just as his children were given the opportunity to attend Jewish day schools, he wanted to assist other families to make the choice to send their children to a Jewish school.
Our fund offers grants to families who are committed to sending their children to a Jewish school, despite a financial difficulty associated with school fees. Since 2007 the Werdiger Family Jewish education grants have assisted nearly 200 children to attend an orthodox Jewish day school.
