How to Apply

There are three (and a half) different processes, depending on your circumstances.

1. Not currently attending a Jewish school

The first step is to contact the school you are planning to send your child. They will assess your ability to pay fees, and based on your situation, they may consider an application to our grant scheme appropriate. You need to apply via the school. Obtain the application form from the school or from our web site, complete it and they will forward it to us for assessment.
Our matching grants for new entrants to a Jewish school can be for up to three years, to give you additional certainty about the move.

2a. In a Jewish school and receiving fee relief – MSC & Yavneh

These are matching grants for families that have already been assessed for fee relief by the school, and you must apply for a grant through the school. They help to defray the fee reduction that remains as a debt to the school until repaid. The grants are awarded on 1 or 2 year basis. Obtain the application form from the school, complete it and they will forward it to us for assessment.

2b. In a Jewish school and receiving fee relief – YBR

These are for families that have already been assessed for fee relief by the school, and you must apply for a grant through the school. They are for parents who are experiencing difficulties in keeping up with the assessed fees, and are awarded on a fixed or a matching basis, for one year. Obtain the application form from the school or our web site, complete it and they will forward it to us for assessment.

3. In a Jewish school and paying full fees

If you are not currently receiving any fee relief from the school, you can apply to us directly instead of via the school. You must first obtain permission from the school to apply; once that is done, we will accept the application, and the school will not see any of the information provided to us for the grant. We require the completed application form, as well as a letter from your accountant verifying that the information provided is true and correct. We reserve the right to discuss your financials directly with your accountant for additional verification of your circumstances. The grants in this case are a fixed amount, and apply for one year only.
